It’s been a while since the last post- apologies…
The shop has been very busy (thank you all for the support!) plus with the amazing weather we have been having (clearly not this past week!) I have been tempted to go for walks/ bike rides or having a cold Negroni in the backyard rather than sitting in front of the laptop typing. Understandable right?!

What are we talking about tonight? Our new brunch on the go of course!
For those who have tried it, you know how good it is… for those who haven’t, what are you waiting for? We got vegan, veggie and meat options, so you really have no excuse… unless you are gluten-free, in that case no much we can do when the brunch is wrapped in a delicious Greek pita.
The whole brunch to go idea started with Panos busting my balloons a few weeks ago that he wanted a souvlaki. He was craving a souvlaki, he needed a souvlaki. Ok cool, I didn’t grow up with that so I don’t get the urge for that specific food but I can sympathise. I honestly need to have pasta once a week and pizza at least once a month. I guess food related cultural habits are the hardest to shake off, especially when you grow up with delicious food on the table for every single meal (grandmas living nearby is always a plus!)
Anyway, I finally gave up and I was like: cool, let’s get the car and go look for some souvlaki. We tried a few (over different days) as the craving just wouldn’t go away. A bit disappointed, we decided to make a not-so-traditional Kanenas version for us one lunch time.

- Beautifully roasted aubergine
- Lemony tahini spread
- Refreshing tabbouleh salad
- Crunchy spiced chickpeas
Do I really need to say how tasty that was? And it was meatless (if you get Panos to eat vegan and enjoy it, that means you’ve done an excellent job!)

So, based on this satisfying lunch experience, we have decided to build up a mini grab+go menu (all made fresh, so it’s more order-wait8mins-grab+go type of deal).
- Vegan option to replicate that gorgeous lunch feast
- Veggie option with mushroom beans + feta (tweaked version of our famous butterbean mushroom on toast brunch dish)
- Meat option (drum roll): scrambled eggs with soutzouki sausage, yoghurt + herbs
Hard to pick a favourite!!!
